Sandiway Manor, one of the three homes within the Cheshire Residential Homes Trust, was opened in 1952.  Built partly from Cheshire sandstone and surrounded by extensive mature gardens and located within beautiful Cheshire countryside, Sandiway Manor provides an elegant setting for our residents to enjoy their later years in security and comfort.  Despite our peaceful location, we are within easy reach of Manchester, Liverpool and Chester and are conveniently situated for the M6 and M56 motorways.

At Sandiway Manor we provide a caring, homely environment while respecting the privacy, dignity and independence of our residents.  In particular, our matron and staff make every effort to help residents to settle into their new home.  At Sandiway Manor we have 28 individual rooms situated on two floors, served by a lift.  All rooms are equipped with a cord pull for when help is needed and some have their own toilet facilities.  Residents may furnish the rooms themselves if they wish and a guest room is available for prospective residents to try out life at Sandiway Manor, or for short visits by guests.  Our residents are always accompanied on medical, dental and eye appointments.

Main meals are taken in our dining room, shown on the right.  As you can see, residents sit down to eat in small groups, to provide a relaxed and informal setting free of any 'institutional' feel.

Guests are welcome to join residents for meals, for a nominal charge.

Residents are free to spend their time in their rooms, or to socialise with other residents in our spacious lounge, as they wish.

The lounge contains a TV and a well-maintained grand piano, and is equipped with a loop system for the hard of hearing.

The Friends of Sandiway Manor Committee organise entertainment, visits, outings, help with shopping and many other activities, some of which are shown in the photographs below.  In addition, the chiropodist, hairdresser and WRVS shop visit regularly, Communion is held monthly and residents use our own growing audio library, and books from the local library.

Lots of activities take place in the lounge, to help our residents keep their minds and bodies active, from Christmas champagne (below) to 'chairobics' and other physical activities (above and below right).

Below, our residents are assembled in the lounge for one of our regular entertainments.

A sun room adjoins the lounge, for use at any time of the year.  Here, our residents' Art Group are displaying their work in the sun lounge.

Indeed, exhibitions by the Art Group occur regularly in the local library.
